On April 28, 2012 we are celebrating the Swedish Tradition of "Valborg" together at McDonalds Ranch in Scottsdale.
"Holy Valborg", German saint, was declared a saint on May 1, 779 AD, and the northern european tradition was to fend of witches with bonfires. Today we still celebrate Valborg with singing folksongs around the bonfire to celebrate the beginning of the spring season and the planting of crop.
The evening will begin with a gatehering at the McDonalds Ranch entrance with a welcome-drink, then continue to the cook-out taking a hay-ride out in the desert at sunset.
The SWEA-woman Choir will greet us at the bonfire with swedish and international folksong to set the mood. We will enjoy a true cook-out prepared by the "Swedish Chef".
Menu: Grilled Chicken, Hamburgers and Hotdogs, with beens, potatosallad and coleslaw. Applepie for dessert.
Cash bar: Softdrinks, beer and wine (bottled water free)
After dinner the SACC Arizona and SWEA Arizona Presidents, Tobias Lofstrand and Suzanne Southard will inagurate the organizations Entrepreneural Award and Scholarship.
Dessert will be served while the raffle winners will be presented. Each participant will receive a raffle ticket with the chance to win great prizes including a 2 night stay at the Sheraton Tempe.
You will enjoy the Hay-rides through the desert back to the parking.

8.30pm - Dessert and Raffle
9.30pm - 10.00pm - Return on the Hay-ride
